ANOTHER NORTH COAST MYSTERY WRITER DESCRIBES DARKNESS IN THE REDWOODS

"Neil Tarpey paints the North Coast and its inhabitants with loving precision as we ride along with two small town cops trying to unravel a bizarre and deadly series of events behind the redwood curtain. Inspector Kevin Valken, already worn thin and running on empty from a prior investigation and a personal tragedy, leans on his Native-American partner, Detective Naomi Marren, for practical and spiritual assistance as they face danger, misdirection and traps. A thrilling ride." --David Andrew Lee, author of Alpha House

WHERE IN HUMBOLDT COUNTY DOES DARKNESS IN THE REDWOODS TAKE PLACE?

This novel takes place in the fictitious town of North Valley on California's rural north coast. Residents and lovers of beautiful Humboldt County may place North Valley between Arcata and Trinidad,  but its landscape, countryside  and locations, such as the Westcliff Overlook or the Valley Cafe, are made up. All the character, incidents and events are also imaginary. The names of many Humboldt County places are genuine, to add authenticity. Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, is coincidental and exists in the reader's imagination.
